Belgium started as favourites the game and they made their intentions clear from the beginning.

In the 7th minute Belgium had a great chance to open the scoreline when Carrasco received the ball inside the box but his shot was saved by the keeper then Meunier's rebound was kept out by a defender then Hazard's shot was deflected for a corner.

In the 13th minute Belgium got the lead thanks to a fantastic shot from Nainggolan. The ball went in the top left corner of the net leaving no chance for the goalkeeper.

In the 25th minute Courtois showed why he is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world at this moment, he made a fantastic stop at Taylor'd shot from inside the box.

In the 31st minute there was nothing that Courtois could have done when Ashley Williams header went into the back of the net after a corner kick.

After just three minutes Bale had an opportunity when he shot from the edge of the box, but this time Courtois stopped the shot confidently.

There was one more opportunity for Wales before the half-time but the Belgian goalkeeper stopped it again. We had one of the best first-half at the Euros so far. At half the statistics show a balanced game with a slight advantage for Wales:

  • Shots: 10-6
  • Pass accuracy: 58%-42%
  • Chances created: 10-4
  • Pass accuracy: 89%-90%

Romelu Lukaku had the first chance of the second half he headed away Meunier's perfect cross, then two minutes later Hazard ran with the ball inside the box but his shot went just off the right post.

Wales' answer for Belgium's opportunities came by Robson-Kanu, who received a ball from Ramsey inside the box and with a nice move he shook of his defender and he scored with a placed shot leaving no chance for Courtois.

As time passed Belgium pressed more and more, Fellaini started playing as a forward, he even had a great opportunity but his header went just wide.

Despite Belgium's pressing and some good opportunities to score it was Wales who scored, securing the win and achieving an incredible performance.

Wales scored the most goals at the Euro 2016 (10). They will face Portugal in the semi-final.
