After a 'boring' first leg, where the two teams waited for each other, Real Madrid began more aggressively and with more initiative.
It was a bad start for Manchester City, Vincent Kompany got injured and had to leave the pitch after just 8 minutes.
Like this wasn't enough, in the 20th minute Real Madrid opened the scoreline by Gareth Bale, who scored with a deflected shot.
Real scored again in the 37th minute but the goal was ruled out because Pepe was offside. Until the end of the first half Real pressed and didn't let City to create chances.

In the second half, even though Manchester City needed to score, it was Real who pressed more and showed more.
Joe Hart made a good save on Luka Modric's shot in the 52th minute and again in the 55th minute on Ronaldo's header.
Real dangerous again by Bale, who's header hit the crossbar in the 66th minute.
The first chance for City came in the 85th minute, from De Bruyne's free kick, then one minute before stoppage time Aguero's shot flew just wide of the post.
But this was not enough from Manchester City and Real wins.
