France have qualified into the semi-finals of the Euro 2016 after a convincing 5-2 victory over Iceland. France will face Germany in the semi-final.

France topped group A after two "last minute" win over Romania and Albania then drawing against Switzerland. They haven't always shown what the home fans were expecting, but enough to get the job done. In the last 16 they were one goal down until Antoine Griezmann's double in just three minutes. Iceland finished second in group F without losing, helding Portugal to a 1-1 draw and winning against Austria with a late goal. The biggest surprise came in the last 16 where they were facing England. They were one goal down after just 3 minutes, but they scored two goals in just fifteen minutes and held it until the end of the 90 minutes. After a few minutes of testing each other France started to dominate and their first opportunity came and Giroud scored for 1-0, his shot went between the goalkeeper legs after a perfect pass from Blaise Matuidi.

Before Iceland had the chance to adapt and try to attack, France scored again, Pogba was the receiving end of Griezmann's corner kick and he headed in, to make it 2-0 for the home side.

In the 25th minute Bodvarsson had an opportunity to reduce the difference but his effort from inside the box went just over the crossbar.

Then almost twenty minutes of slow play followed, without anything notable.
But in the 43rd minute Payet received a perfect pass on the edge of the penalty area and he produced a nice strike into the bottom right corner. The score is 3:0.

After just two minutes, from a lovely play Antoine Griezmann scored the fourth goal lifting the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 4-0 for the home side.

After just three minutes Payet sent a perfect cross in and Olivier Giroud headed it in from close-range. 5-1.

In the 63rd minute Ingason won the aerial duel inside France's penalty box after a corner kick, but his header was aimed into the middle of the goal and the goalkeeper blocked it.

In the 84th minute Skulason sent a precise cross into the box, where Birkir Bjarnason headed the ball into the right side of the goal and beyond the goalkeeper to make it 5-2.
