Euro 2016 - Wales team profile

Wales have qualified for the first time in their history to the European Championship finishing second in their qualification group. They will play against England, Russia and Slovakia.

Wales was part of group B along with Belgium, Bosnia, Israel, Cyprus and Andorra. They finished second place four points ahead of third place Bosnia.

Thanks to their second-placed finishing they achieved automatic qualification. They finished with 21 points winning six games, drawing three and losing one.

Their first game will be with Slovakia. The two teams met in 2006 and 2007 in the Euro 2008 Qualifiers Wales lost the first game 5-1 and won the second one 5-2.

The second game will be against England. The most recent encounters between the two teams were in 2011 in the Euro 2012 qualifiers and England won both games 1-0 and 2-0.

Their third game will be with Russia. The last time the two teams met was in 2008 and 2009 in the World Cup Qualifiers Russia won both games 2-1 and 3-1.
